When you are staging your bathroom purchase some inexpensive white towels that you only use for showings. You can also add a white bath mat, shower curtain, and soap dish to play up the look.
Turn on all the lights
People love houses that have lots of natural lights. Before you have your listing pictures taken, an open house, or a showing make sure that you open up all the curtains and turn on every light. Keep closet lights on along with every lamp in the house.
If you have any dark areas of your house, add extra lamps to brighten the space. If you have drapes hanging over your windows remove them before any showings. Sheer curtains can be left hanging but drapes can date rooms and also make them appear darker than they are.
Replace the kitchen fixtures
You don’t have to do a complete kitchen remodel in order to make it look updated. Instead of replacing countertops and cabinets look for kitchen fixtures that you can use to replace your old hardware. Swap out all the drawer pulls and cabinet knobs and consider replacing your kitchen faucet if it looks old as well.
Swap your hanging art for mirrors
If you have lots of framed art on the wall it can be a good idea to switch it out with mirrors. Not everyone likes the same type of art. That means the pieces that you love could be something that’s off-putting to your potential buyers.
However, if you switch these out with mirrors they help to reflect the light and brighten the room even more. Make sure you pay attention to what the mirror is going to be reflecting. If you have an undesirable view out one of your windows then that is not a window that you want to place a mirror across from.
Don’t cover up your wood floors
Potential buyers love hardwood floors. While you might love having rugs down while you’re living in it when you’re ready to sell, roll the rugs up and put them away. This is the time that you want to show off your floors to potential buyers.
You don’t need a big budget in order to stage a house beautifully. Don’t let the lack of funds keep you from making your house appeal to buyers. You will not regret the use of funds that you spend to stage a house.
